Word of the Year- Warrior

war·ri·or (n.)
1. One who is engaged in or experienced in battle.
2. One who is engaged aggressively or energetically in an activity, cause, or conflict

Some of you may be wondering a tad about my choice of word of the year.  It's not a "fluffy" word.  It's a strong word.  And one I literally could not get away from.  I fought it, and tried to come up with another.  Then I'll be darned, while at Dad's over the Christmas holiday, I found this brick in their garden!  Yes, I took this photo....so I think the word found me this year.  I am not sure why....I hope my heart doesn't know something I don't.  I do rather like definition #2....because I am certainly engaged aggressively in my art making, art teaching, homemaking and family tie building!

I've never chosen a word for the year before, but like you, my word choose me....Joy. Everywhere I turn around I'm reading a verse or quote. It's been chasing me since September. At the end of the month I will let it mark me and I'm getting my first tattoo "choose joy".

I love your website....I've been following you quietly. Your work is beautiful.

Love it! Sounds like the word chose you! I think I chose mine, but I've had so much confirmation that it was the right one, that now I'm thinking it may have chosen me, as well!

Warrior Woman. I love that concept of empowerment and focus...and drive. And how cool that it was discovered on a brick...another symbol of power. Thanks for hopping with the FlyTribe! ~Rae

Very powerful word -- and I love the way it found you. I agree: Hang on to the second meaning of the word. I think that's very positive! In that sense, I'd love to be a warrior. Oh, nice photo, too!

I love m4ufree movies that there was NOTHING gratuitous or cheap in this movie. In a day where movie makers try too hard to appeal to all demographics and end up cheapening what could have been a great movie (Transformers), this sets a new bar for balance. The fight candy only enhances the drama, and vice versa. I saw little in the way of compromise in either. With a strong story and good actors, you really don't need yidio CGI, sex, F-bombs every other word, etc.
